Free Art and Photography Contest in Japan: Brillia Art Award Wall 2026
Latvian photographers and artists have the opportunity to participate in the international Brillia Art Award Wall 2026 competition in Japan.
🇱🇻 Artists from Latvia are also eligible to participate.
✅ Participation is free of charge.
The competition is seeking two-dimensional artworks to be exhibited at the Brillia Gallery Shinjuku in Tokyo. Not only paintings and illustrations but also photographs are accepted. There are no restrictions based on nationality, professional status, or whether an individual artist or a group is applying.
🏆 Prize
Two winners are planned to be selected. Each will receive:
💴 A cash prize of ¥200,000
🖼 An exhibition in Tokyo lasting approximately 6 months
🌐 The opportunity to register on the Japanese art platform ArtSticker
The winners’ works will be exhibited in the entrance area of the Brillia Gallery Shinjuku.
📸 What Can Be Submitted?
Only flat, two-dimensional works are accepted for the competition, including:
* photographs;
* paintings;
* other artworks suitable for wall display.
You may submit a single work or a composition of multiple works. The maximum total size is 2400 × 1800 mm, and the total weight must not exceed 30 kg. Both new and previously created works are accepted.
📮 How to apply?
Here’s a very important detail.
During the application phase, you do not need to send the artwork itself to Japan.
You must send the following by mail:
1. the official contest application form;
2. up to three A4 pages describing the work, its concept, and visual materials.
The documents must be sent physically by mail to the competition office in Tokyo. Online applications are not accepted.

The application deadline is:
July 8, 2026.
The competition guidelines state that the date of mailing will be taken into account. Since the deadline is very close, participants from Latvia should carefully check the delivery and postmark requirements before mailing their entries.
