Ian Parry Photography Fellowship: 10,000 pounds for emerging photojournalists
Emerging photographers and photography students from Latvia have the opportunity to apply for the Ian Parry Photojournalism Grant 2026.
🌍 This is an international competition.

The program was created to help emerging photojournalists carry out significant documentary photography projects and launch their professional careers.
Can I apply from Latvia? Yes.
Applications are open to young photographers from around the world.
Eligible applicants include:
* photographers up to 24 years of age;
* full-time students enrolled in a photography course or degree program.
If you turn 25 during the competition year or are near the age limit, please review the explanation provided in the official FAQ before applying. Participants aged 25 and older must be full-time photography students.
📸 What kinds of projects interest the jury?
The Ian Parry Fellowship is intended for photojournalism and documentary photography.
Projects on the following topics are particularly suitable:
* social change;
* human rights and humanitarian issues;
* armed conflicts and their consequences;
* the environment and climate;
* health and science;
* culture, communities, and people’s living conditions.
The jury is looking not only for a strong portfolio, but also for a project that can have a real impact and broaden public understanding of an important issue.
📮 What should you submit?
Your application must include:
* an application for a single project;
* a portfolio of 12 photographs;
* the project title, description, and precise image captions;
* a plan for how the grant would be used;
* a description of the proposed project, up to 1,000 words;
* a document confirming your age or full-time student status.
Photos must be in JPG format, in RGB color space, at 300 dpi, and at least 2,500 pixels on the longest side.
Descriptions and image captions must be submitted in English.

In addition, one participant may receive personal safety equipment and a paid four-day training course in the UK on working in hazardous environments.
Save the Children will also select one photographer from the shortlist for a paid professional photography assignment.
